The latest version of Lightroom Classic allows easier-than-ever preset installation! To begin, make sure your software is up-to-date via Help > Updates...

Let's begin at your Luxe Downloads Page:

For the current subscription version of Lightroom Classic, you'll need the XMP Files. 

You don't even need to extract/open/unzip these files.

How to Import your Presets in Lightroom Classic

The process should be as simple as: Download & Import!  Here we'll break it all down in smaller steps so you know exactly what to expect! 

1. Download the XMP Presets from your Luxe Download Link.
   
   
   
2. Do not open or unzip your downloaded files. 
   • • MAC USERS NOTE (If Safari is instantly unzipping your XMP files)
       

       1. Open Safari
       2. Click Preferences
       3. Under general tab, uncheck the option at the bottom which reads "Open "safe" files after downloading".
       
       

3. Launch Lightroom Classic. Make sure you have images in your library! 
   
   
4. In the Develop tab, locate the Presets Panel under the navigator on the left hand side. 
   
   
5. From the Presets Panel Click "+" and select "Import Presets" from the drop-down.
   
   
   
6. Locate the .zip files you downloaded in your "Downloads" folder, select all, and click "Import" 
   
   
   
   A progress bar will appear to let you know your presets are being added to LRC: 
   
   
   
7. Your presets are installed! Click the little arrow pointing toward the installed folder(s) to expand and view your presets. Hover to preview, click to apply! 
   

Note: You can NOT import .LRTEMPLATE local adjustment brush files as general presets. Follow our guide to brushes here!

Remember to Back up your Files! 

Be sure to back up your files at time of purchase to a secure cloud or external physical hard storage device. If you have already imported the files, and want to copy them to a back-up location, you can find them in the "Imported Settings" folder:

• Mac Users: Users>YOUR NAME>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Camera Raw>ImportedSettings

• Windows Users:  Application Data>Adobe>Camera Raw>Settings OR C: Users-[user name]>AppData>Roaming>Adobe>Camera Raw>ImportedSettings

Windows Users: If you are unable to find your Settings Folder, you will need to change your folder options to show hidden files and folders. See instructions here

Mac Users: If you are unable to find the Settings Folder follow the steps below:

Go to your Finder and select Go > Go to Folder from the drop-down menu.  Copy and paste the following in the search box: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Camera Raw/ImportedSettings
